How long you should decant your wine?
🍷 Red wine: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Full body red – 60+ minutes⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Medium body red – 30 to 60 minutes⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Light bodied red – 20 to 30 minutes⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tannins mellow down after 60 minutes, so the more tannins in your wine, the more you should decant your wine.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🥂 White wine and Rose:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
15 to 20 minutes will be enough. Decant white wine only if it has reduced aromatics or smells like burnt matches (reduction).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍾 Sparkling:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
15 minutes will be enough for small production champagne. Never decant prosecco!
